Forbes Releases Best Business School Rankings For 2017

In an effort to attack the question “is an MBA worth it”, Forbes has released their 10th biennial ranking of global Business Schools. The below lists detail the top providers in terms of MBA return, 5 years after graduation.

About The Study

Over 100 schools and 17,500 alumni were surveyed regarding pre- and post-MBA salaries, career, and location. 25% of those surveyed responded. Schools which didn’t have at least 15% of their alumni responding to the survey were excluded. All schools which had a negative ROI after five years were also excluded.

International MBAs – One-Year Program

The below have been ranked by Forbes in terms of their cost to complete, combined with the provided 5-year MBA gain, in USD. These MBA programs are completed in a year. This year saw IMD in Switzerland take top honors with a gain of $194,700

  1. International Institute for Management Development, Switzerland – $194,700
  2. Insead, France – $150,400
  3. IE Business School, Spain – $145,400
  4. Cambridge (Judge Business School) – $140,000
  5. SDA Bocconi, Italy – $138,100
  6. Oxford (Saïd business School), United Kingdom – $121,400
  7. The University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong – $105,700
  8. Mannheim, Germany – $91,800
  9. Erasmus (Rotterdam), Netherlands – $89,000
  10. Cranfield, Unitted Kingdom – $83,300

International MBAs – Two-Year Program

The below have been ranked by Forbes in terms of their cost to complete, combined with the provided 5-year MBA gain, in USD. This year saw London Business School claim top honors with a gain of $119,100.

  1. London Business School, United Kingdom – $119,100
  2. IESE, Spain – $97,100
  3. CEIBS, China – $95,000
  4. HEC Paris, France – $85,300
  5. Esade, Spain – $58,700
  6. Manchester Business School, United Kingdom – $57,200
  7. NUS Business School, Singapore – $52,100
  8. York University (Schulich), Canada – $48,700
  9. Ipade, Mexico – $47,700
