Executive MBA

Executive MBAs, often referred to as an EMBA, is a Master of Business Administration designed for senior managers with significant work experience. Senior Executive MBAs are also available from very few Business Schools.

Programs are typically focused on senior leadership, board-level management, teamwork and professional development. Some business schools also run workshops overseas, to ensure a global mindset is developed.

These EMBAs typically last between 12 and 36 months. The majority of Executive MBAs in Australia are available on-campus only with some involving overseas travel.

To apply for an EMBA or Senior Executive MBA you will need significant experience, with some Business Schools requiring a business sponsorship.

EMBA Fees

Executive MBAs have higher tuition fees, starting at $38,796 for the Swinburne EMBA, up to $121,000 for the Melbourne Business School Senior Executive MBA.

Senior Executive MBA

Senior Executive MBA programs are one of the toughest Master of Business Administration degrees to get accepted into. Designed to be a step above an EMBA, there are few business schools that offer this degree.

The main difference between an EMBA and a Senior Executive MBA is the management requirement. The University of Melbourne Business School requires students to have at least ten (10) years management experience for their Senior EMBA, while only five (5) for their EMBA. Some EMBA programs do not require any specified management experience.

Global and Senior Executive MBAs also may require an element of travel.
