High reputation, flexibility and cultural diversity
The reason why I select Macquarie Business School is that reputation is very high. Another reason is that creating units plan is very flexible. Moreover, students’ nationality and culture are diverse.
Great Business School
MGSM has been a globally ranked business school, which made the choice to study there easy. The relationships I developed with my peers survive post graduation and into the workforce.
It is what you make of it.
I chose MGSM as it was one of the leading institutes and had a high global ranking. The enrolment process was a little archaic, but I did enjoy a selection of my units.
Studying my MBA was a decision in part to better myself, while growing a strong network that could support my career development. I firmly believe your skills as a manager only get you so far, and going from manager to senior leader relies heavily on who you know.
There are some great lecturers that I would suggest trying to study with. Robert Spillane was great and Brad Smith was able to ensure statistics was not only educational be extremely entertaining. On the flip side I found that some units had facilitators who taught out of date content, weren’t enabling a collaborative experience. I deemed these to be the price of attending a good school, although I wasn’t really expecting that at a global top 50 program.
My tip for future students would be to find students who have similar aspirations to you and build relationships.
